Warranty/Return Information

Guitar & Basses:

Schmidt Co. Guitars warrants all Schmidt Co. electric guitar or bass to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for one (1) year from the date of original purchase, subject to limitations set forth herein (“Limited Warranty”). This Limited Warranty applies only to the original purchaser.


If you need to start a warranty claim, Schmidt Co Guitars should be the first point of contact for all claims. To receive warranty service, please email info@schmidtcoguitars.com, with your a copy of your receipt as proof of purchase, during the applicable warranty period. Defective components that qualify for coverage under this Limited Warranty may be repaired or replaced at Schmidt Co. Guitar’s discretion without charge. If the qualified component is not repaired, Schmidt Co. Guitars may, at its sole discretion, either replace with a comparable product or refund the purchase price. Remedies beyond normal service repair of any Schmidt Co. instrument require both an evaluation and confirmation of the defect.


All transportation, insurance and freight charges associated with warranty service and repairs on Schmidt Co. electric or bass guitars are the responsibility of the purchaser, as is any service initiated for the purpose of customizing setups or adjustments beyond standard specifications.


Limitations and exclusions


The following items are not covered by our Limited Warranty.

  1. Fret wear, saddle wear, nut wear, strings and or batteries. 

  2. Checking, shrinking, sinking, discoloration and ware of finishes. 

  3. Setups, adjustments or routine maintenance of any kind.

  4. Damage to finishes or cracks, splitting, or warpage of wood due to changes in temperature or humidity, exposure to or contact with sun, fire, moisture, body salts and acids of perspiration, guitar straps, guitar stands/hangers made from vinyl, plastic, rubber or other synthetic materials, any other chemicals or non-approved polishes.

  5. Damage, corrosion or rusting of any hardware components caused by humidity, salty air, or exposure to the moisture, body salts and acids of perspiration. 

  6. Any damage to an instrument resulting from customization or modification.

  7. Any modifications or alterations to electronics, hardware, body and or neck.

  8. Normal wear and tear on any part of the instrument, case or gig bag including jacks, controls, switches, plated surfaces, tuning machines, pick-guards, zippers, clasps, handles, latches, case hardware etc.

  9. All other damage and deterioration due to normal usage, wear and tear, aging, accidents, neglect, abuse, or Acts of Nature.

  10. Any instrument, whose serial number is missing, altered or tampered with in any fashion.   


Instrument Cables:

Schmidt Co. Guitars guarantees all its cable assemblies will be free from defects in, components and manufacturing for its lifetime by the original purchaser. The warranty excludes products that have been misused, mistreated or modified from their original form. Defective cables will be repaired or replaced without charge, at Schmidt Co’s discretion, with a like or comparable product by presenting your proof of purchase to Schmidt Co. via email at info@schmidtcoguitars.com. Any repair or service performed by any person or entity other than Schmidt Co. Guitars is not covered by this Warranty. All transportation, insurance and freight charges associated with warranty service and repairs on Schmidt Co. instrument cables are the responsibility of the purchaser. This Warranty becomes void if the product has been damaged by alteration, misuse, accident, or neglect.



If you choose to cancel your order you will not be required to pay the remaining balance. However, your deposit (50% of total build) is non-refundable. Your deposit is used for the purchase of materials, hardware and labor of building. The deposit is our safety net, because each build is custom tailored to your desire. We risk a loss, if we end up with a canceled order.


If you regret your purchase within 14 days of receiving the guitar, the guitar can be returned with a safe, tracked and insured shipment method to us at your own expense. Once the guitar has been received and verified to be in good condition, we will refund 40% of the total cost of the guitar. The shipping cost and deposit payment cannot be refunded.


Some exclusions may apply but are at the discretion of Schmidt Co. Guitars

IMPORTANT: PLEASE RETAIN YOUR ORIGINAL SALES RECEIPT, AS IT IS YOUR PROOF OF PURCHASE VALIDATING ALL WARRANTY CLAIMS. Note; we keep record of serial numbers in correlation to the original purchaser.
